Gemma Pictures Launches Production on Feature Film ‘Maudits Français !’

Gemma Pictures, in partnership with Cine Nomine Productions, is pleased to announce that production has officially begun on ‘Maudits Français !’, directed by Émile Gaudreault and written by Guy Laurent and Émile Gaudreault.

This France–Canada co-production is being made with Amalga and Les Films du Lac, and co-produced with M6 Films and StudioCanal (who hold full distribution rights). Canal+, Ciné+, and M6 participate, and Canadian distributor Immina Films is on board in association.

Principal photography commenced on September 14 and will run through November 28, 2025, between Montréal (Canada) and Villefranche-sur-Saône (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France).

Synopsis
The comedy tells the story of two very different families who are brought together by a wedding. The French side, the aristocratic Estaing de la Motte family, meets the Québécois Bouchard family, warm, hopeful, and maybe a little too“woke” for their hosts. The culture clash sparks misunderstandings and comic conflict, forcing the two clans to confront their differences and perhaps even discover common ground.
